Plums and Berries

Plum and berry shades have kind of overtaken my whole makeup collection, and I'm definitely not complaining. Whether it's a plummy lipstick or a blush, these hues look incredibly chic and flattering, especially if you are a green-eyed gal. Paired with a deeper berry tones on the nails, it has been my go-to colour combination for autumn (very original, I know). Here are some shades that I've been reaching for lately.

Starting with nails, I usually reach for either

Essie's Shearling Darling

or

OPI's Visions of Love

when I fancy something dark and moody. OPI's offering balances between dark red and black, making it a touch darker than Shearling Darling. Formula-wise, both polishes are great, but I find that on me Essie lasts a bit longer.

On my cheeks, I've been wearing

Nars Sin

which is described as a "berry with gold shimmer". A bit different than the standard peachy pink hue, this berry-toned offering manages to liven up the complexion with both colour and sheen. When it is applied with a light hand, it gives a gorgeous flush and luminous glow that lasts for hours. Even though I'm not a religious blush wearer, this one has been appearing on my cheeks nearly every day. I feel that this is a start to a beautiful and equally unhealthy obsession with Nars blushes...

Without a doubt,

MAC's Plumful

is the lipstick that kicked off the whole obsession with plummy tones. Described as a rose-plum, this semi-sheer lipstick is a great way to add colour to your makeup without looking too out there. Effortless and comfortable on the lips, this is the one for you if you want to look like you've made an effort. Next is

MAC's Syrup

- a slightly pinker and sheerer version of Plumful, which is a great MLBB shade with a plummy edge. I've dedicated a whole post to it

here

. And last but not least is the boldest shade I own in the form of

MAC's Rebel

. Bright yet wearable, this lipstick has hints of magenta which make it that little bit more interesting. It's definitely one to check out if you're in the market for some wearable autumnal hues.
