5 Podcasts To Listen To

To be honest, I've been planning to do this post for a while now, however it always got postponed due to my lack of ideas (and skills) for lifestyle photography. Hopefully, it's a skill I can master, as I'd love to break up the never-ending flow of beauty posts with something a bit more different, but I digress.

Podcasts as such have completely changed my morning commute and the way I work, as they offer the perfect amount of "background noise", while being entertaining and somewhat educational. So, today I'm sharing my current 5 favourites, and, if I figure out the whole photography aspect, you can expect more follow-up posts to come.

Stuff You Should Know

|

Let's start off with a good all-arounder. SYSK is a well-researched podcast that aims to explain anything and everything, covering history, science, culture and everything in between. Despite the educational focus, it never gets dull or repetitive, so it's a brilliant way explore things that never get the properly explained.

How To Do Everything

|

A lighter take on the topic of education, HTDE provides serious answers to all kinds of questions. Want to know how to dodge awkward dinner conversations or live like El Chapo? They've got you covered. If you happen to suffer from a case of really bad hiccups (like I do), the episode linked below offers a bizarre yet truly effective solution.

Science Hotline Bling

Criminal

|

Criminal is a unique take on the true crime genre, covering the stories of people who have done wrong, been wronged, or gotten caught somewhere in between. While it isn't as intense as some of the other crime podcasts out there, it is undeniably intriguing, leaving the listener binding on the whole podcast archive.

Women of the Hour

|

Lena Dunham hosts this 5-episode podcast, which explores the different facets of being a female through various stories and interviews. Honest, insightful, sometimes lighthearted and sometimes less so, this podcasts surprised me in the most positive way.

Friendship

The Guilty Feminist

|

Hosted by two brilliant comedians in front of a live audience, The Guilty Feminist explores the hypocrisies, fears and insecurities related to our day-to-day attempts at feminism. To me, this is just the perfect mix of insight and irony, as it focuses less on the topic of feminism, and more on the female experience as such.
